[S.E.A.M] Space for Experiments in Art and Manufacturing is a program focused primarily on the symbiotic relationship between concept and matter in terms of design, functionality and production. Since its conception, SEAM has taken shape into becoming a platform where ideas from all fields of design converge in one intersection, thus creating a space made for creatives to enable transforming their visions into tangible results.

WHAT IS S.E.A.M?

In a design context, a "seam" refers to the point where two elements come together or where different materials or components meet. It is a crucial aspect of design, representing the junction where various design choices converge. A seam can be physical, as in the stitching of fabrics, or metaphorical, denoting the intersection of different design elements, ideas, or functionalities.

A well-executed seam in design is seamless, almost imperceptible, creating a smooth transition and contributing to the overall cohesiveness of the design. Conversely, intentional seams can be used to highlight contrasts, delineate boundaries, or emphasise specific features, adding depth and interest to the design. In essence, the concept of a seam in design encapsulates the junctions where the thoughtful decisions of a designer manifest, influencing the visual and functional qualities of the final product.
